NO disrespect to Alessandro whatsoever! Great guy/great and knowledgeable bartender! BUT ALL Martinis like this are MASSIVELY overrated. This is just NEAT (premium, admittedly) alcohol poured into a chilled martini glass. Obviously the VISCOSITY of the liquid increases when the bottles come outta the freezer. And it's a twist of Amalfi Lemon. THAT-IS-IT!!! ANYONE CAN MAKE IT. NOT anyone can make a BRAMBLE, or a MOJITO, or a COSMOPOLITAN, however. Bramble is a Modern Classic, and was invented by the late Doug Bradsell of The Match Bar. I'm a very experienced cocktail bartender too. And I too, KNOW what I'm talking about!

If you like neat gin, enjoy it and ask for neat gin. A martini this is not. A Martini is a cocktail and meant to be balanced mix of flavours. In the classic recipe you taste a good amount of Vermouth.
This may not be your preference, nor the standard classic martini recipe, but it is certainly a martini. And, not to question your authoritative status on the subject of martinis, but Duke's Bar is a time-honored and renowned London institution.
The title says this is a VESPER MARTINI, which is not the same as a standard Martini. The Vesper Martini is an entirely different cocktail, a riff on the classic. Your comment is irrelevent here.
Just love them, I use nothing but bespoke T&A shirt, but be prepared, they are not italian shirts, byu italian shirts instead if that is what you want.
